136 cases registered over violation of ECP’s code of conduct: IG Punjab

According to IG Punjab, Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, 136 cases pertaining to violation of the ECP code of conduct have been registered so far in Punjab.

Out of the 946, 429 workers hail from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), 134 from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and 22 from Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).

Imam added that in addition to the 946 workers, 361 supporters of independent candidates and other political parties were charged for violation of ECP’s code of conduct.

Punjab IG said that a total of 65 political workers have been detained under the Goonda Act.
