Ballot papers found from garbage dump in Karachi

Description

Stamped ballot papers including green ones for National Assembly and white ones for Sindh Assembly were recovered from a garbage dump in Karachi.

The ballot papers were stamped in favour of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidates who were contesting from NA-241, a constituency in District Korangi. The garbage dump also included some voter cards as well.

Local MQM-P and PPP candidates got hold of the ballot papers and counted this as rigging done to favour other parties.

ECP has started an inquiry to solve the issue of ballot papers and to find who was involved in the case.
